ABOUT

Kevin Matley is an American film composer and multi-instrumentalist who pours his heart and soul into every note he writes.

Most recently, Matley composed the score for the Skydance/AppleTV+ feature The Family Plan, the most viewed movie in AppleTV+ history; the Lionsgate feature Arthur the King starring Simu Liu and Mark Wahlberg; the Leonardo DiCaprio-produced and Critics Choice-nominated NatGeo documentary Path of the Panther (Disney/Hulu); 2023 Tribeca-winning feature documentary Between the Rains, and Oscar-winning filmmaker Adam McKay’s HBO feature documentary, Daniel.

Previously, Matley scored the Netflix original and TIFF sensation Concrete Cowboy starring Idris Elba, for which his score was lauded by The Hollywood Reporter and San Francisco Chronicle’s Datebook.

Matley attributes his love of film music to the movies he watched as a kid. Early Disney animations, Sci-fi films, and movies like Indiana Jones were instrumental in cultivating his passion for writing music and storytelling, and ultimately guiding his career path as a film composer.
